Want to take a beekeeping classes from the pros? Here is your chance! Take classes from Zack and Katie Owens, Owners of Lazy Bee Ranch. You will leave our beginning beekeeping class with an excellent foundation to build your skills upon in order to become a great beekeeper.
We will teach you everything you need to know to get through your entire first season and winter in order to give you the best chance of success possible. Everything from how to install a package or nuc to how to prepare your hives for a successful over wintering. Our classes are very informative and will have time for questions. Our teaching style is very hands on so please come prepared to learn and take notes.
Every beginning beekeeping class comes with a copy of "The Beekeepers Handbook" 4th edition by Diana Sammataro that you will pick up at the class.
The Beginning beekeepers class will be held at Lazy Bee Ranch headquarters at the newly Restored Historic Bromley Farm located at 1594 E. Bromley Lane, Brighton, CO. The classes will start at 9:00am sharp and will be 4-6 hours long depending on questions. We will break at 11:30 for lunch. So either pack a lunch or there are plenty of options nearby. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early.
Beginning Beekeeping Classes will be offered on February 25th, March 4th and March 25th.
Intermediate Beekeeping classes will cover more in depth topics including but not limited to splitting colonies, preventing swarms, in-depth analysis various pests and diseases etc...
The intermediate class is suitable for beekeepers who have taken a beginners class or have at least 1 year of beekeeping experience
At this time we will be offering 1 intermediate class on March 5th.
This class will run from 10:00am-12:30 and will also be held at Lazy Bee Ranch Headquarters.
